Difficult opening lead. Bird/Anthias (Winning No Trump leads) suggest a slight major suit bias exists. Further analysis is called for.

  1. See hand 8 for DDA description. Despite a major suit bias in favour of a major lead, the actual holdings are very unattractive to lead from. DDA indicates a very very mild advantage for a diamond lead in both IMPs and MPs

  2. In general queens are good cards to lead from (assuming you do not have a safer lead like a sequence of honours). A lead from a queen can work out when partner has the ace, king or jack. That is three ways to win.
