  1. As a general principle it is often best to lead the suit partner has bid, unless you have good reason not to. When leading from 4 small many partnerships lead the top.

    At another table: 1h p p 2d 2nt 3c ap
    2NT is not appropriate by South after partner has signaled a very weak hand with passing. Pass by South would be better.

    At another table: 1h 4c ap
    4C is overdoing it a bit. First, being vulnerable, you have 7 losers, so potential to go 3 light doubled which will be a bottom. Second, if you catch partner with a good hand 3NT may be the place to play. So overall, 2C or 3C are better bids.

  2. 2H is not a good bid on the auction shown. Unless forced it is very rarely correct or best to rebid a five-card suit.
