  1. South is too strong to pass over 1S. 1NT would be OK, over which North could take a stab at 3NT.
The H6 as opening lead is questionable. Leading away from Aces against a suit contract can often result in the loss of a trick.

    At another table: 1d p p 1s 2d 2nt ap
North has ample extras to carry on over South's 2NT which must show 10-12hcp and a diamond stop.

South should have a 5 card suit for 1H and some values. North should be thinking that game will be easy as there is a heart fit and slam could be on. Need a partnership agreement as to handle these strong hands, but various options exist for more advanced partnerships eg
2D by North would agree hearts and be invitational plus in strength, 3D and 4D would be splinters in support of hearts.

    1. 1NT in response to an overcall is normally about 8-11(12) - a bit stronger than over an opening bid.
