  1. Each partnership needs to have an understanding about two suited overcalls, whether Michaels or Unusual 2NT, about what hands can and can't be bid. One method is to set a reference hand say KQxxx, KQxxx, xx, x as the minimum requirement and evaluate each hand against that reference. The hand above has two good features, extra length and AQD, with one negative being poor heart controls, so looks OK. Another method is length-losers, so the length of the two long suits- losers (using the reference hand this would be 10-5=5) must be greater than the level at which pard will be required to bid. In the actual hand above it is 11-6=5. Most partnerships shade the requirements when Non Vul vs Vul (shade can mean heap of nonsense, but will always be at least 5-5)
